Nakata Store ( for Sesame Tofu)
When you visit Japan for a vacation, a trip to the countryside allows you to see a different side of the country. Iwami is far off the beaten track, the nearest big city is Hiroshima, but it can be accessed via Hagi-Iwami airport from Tokyo, JR buses from Hiroshima, JR trains, and even an old steam train.
Near Iwami Ginzan, there is a tofu shop called “Nakata Shop” . They sell “Goma Dofu”, tofu which is made of sesame. If you want to eat in the shop, the store manager will give you soy sauce and wasabi, or Japanese horseradish. It smells so good, and taste is delicious. The store manager recommends eating it with soy sauce and “Wasabi”.
The tofu costs 500 yen. Surprisingly, if you don't like the taste of this Goma Dofu, the manager will refund your money! Iwami Ginzan is near the shop. So, many tourists visit the shop and buy tofu as a souvenir.
